We’re thrilled to present our annual school report, showcasing the exceptional achievements and significant milestones of our centre in the early part of this year.
It has been an incredible journey filled with growth and progress, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished together. Firstly, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to St. Martin’s Church for their generous support in allowing us to utilize their school building for the benefits of the refugees. Their kindness has made a profound impact in the lives of many individuals and families seeking refuge in our community. With their help, we’ve been able to provide a nurturing environment for approximately 50 students, offering them hope and a chance for a better future.
From the 5th to the 9th of March 2023, we had the privilege of hosting Teacher Ajuntha and her team from Kuala Lumpur. They organized an exciting Discovery Week at our centre, taking our students on a journey around the world. Throughout the week, our students had the opportunity to explore the cultures, languages, and cuisines of four fascinating countries: Cambodia, Switzerland, South Korea, and Mexico. Through a variety of engaging activities, our students immersed themselves in these cultures, broadening their horizons and deepening their understanding of diversity. They participated in choral speaking sessions, building their confidence in public speaking while discovering the unique languages and dialects spoken in each country.
We’re delighted to share the heart-warming celebration of Raya (Eid) that took place in our centre, bringing together teachers, volunteers, and students in a joyous occasion. This event provided a unique opportunity for our diverse community to come together and commemorate this special festival. During the celebration, our students and their families shared nearly 10 different varieties of meals from their homes. This act of sharing homemade dishes allowed everyone to experience the rich culinary traditions associated with Raya. The exchange of food also brought our community closer, as students and their families shared not only meals but also stories and cultural anecdotes, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for our diverse backgrounds and heritage.
Education plays a vital role in empowering individuals and communities, and it has a transformative impact on the lives of refugees. By offering educational opportunities, ElShaddai is not only helping refugees to acquire knowledge and skills, but also promoting their integration into society and fostering self-sufficiency. Furthermore, education has a ripple effect, benefiting not only the learners but also their families and communities.
The vision to provide proper education for refugees is noble, and through ELshaddai’s efforts, we’re making a positive difference in the lives of refugees in Kota Bharu. By working together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society for refugees, promoting their overall well-being and development. Expressing gratitude for ElShaddai’s support is important as it recognizes their efforts and encourages continued collaboration and support. Together, through education and opportunities, we can create a brighter future for refugees, empowering them to navigate challenges and build better lives for themselves and their communities.
