Meaningful, Purposeful, Sustainable

ElShaddai Community Development Fund (CDF) is a financial mechanism established to support and promote various development initiatives and projects for the refugee, asylum seeker and other irregular migrant communities. Our goal is to facilitate holistic community transformation by addressing violence (injustice, oppression and exploitation) through and Awareness, Relief, Intervention and Development.

Scope of Service

  • Community Advocacy and Education: Create awareness and impart knowledge to promote basic rights, holistic wellbeing and societal improvement/health within the community.
  • Emergency Relief Fund:Assist during any emergency crises such as natural disasters, sudden loss of income, housing and medical related emergencies.
  • Financial Intervention: Encompasses interest-free loan program, community saving program, and etc, which aim at supporting the community to be more financially viable and independent in the long term.
  • Child Protection and Gender-based Violence: Immediate rescue of children at risk of all kind of abuse, neglect, child marriage, and any other protection risks; responding to women who are suffering from any forms of violence for eg. sexual exploitation and abuse, domestic violence, forced marriage, and any other violence due to their marginalised and vulnerable status.
  • Safe Placement: Providing a safe and protective shelter for children and women at risk for healing and support.
  • Case management: Provide comprehensive support for individuals and families, including physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual assistance.
  • Community Engagement: Involve community members in decision-making and supporting them in contributing back to their own community.
  • Economic Development: Support for community-based businesses, livelihood programs, and initiatives such as job and skill trainings.
  • Social (Welfare) Services: Provide funds for essential services such as student boarding and education sponsorship, healthcare, childcare, counselling, empowerment programs and community centres/facilities.

Duration of Support

One-Off to Short-Term Relief

Community Development Fund offers funding for a one-off relief assistance, or short-term support to the maximum period of 3-6 months.

Medium-Term

Part of the fund provides short to medium-term support for projects with defined timelines. These projects include various empowerment and educational programs, economic and livelihood projects that span from one to several years.

Long-Term

Community Development Fund commits to long-term support for ongoing initiatives, such as sustaining social services, maintaining infrastructure, or supporting human development in a community over an extended period.

The Impact of Your Monthly Support

RM 300 /Month

to support a child or single lady or a family at risk to stay at shelter or community placement.

RM 500 /Month

to support handout for basic provisions and food.

RM 600 /Month

to support a part-time community worker from the refugee and/or stateless community.

RM 1000 /Month

to support a community-led initiative.
