Excel and Elite 2024 Report

Excel

At the start of the year, some Level 7 students exhibited challenging behaviours, including rowdiness, foul language, disrespect, careless attitudes toward school responsibilities, and inappropriate interactions with one another. Morning devotions were taken lightly, with minimal attention or engagement. By the end of the year, significant positive changes have emerged. Students no longer use foul language or engage in inappropriate behaviour. They demonstrated cooperation with teachers, actively participated in devotions by asking questions, and fulfilled their duties with dedication and commitment.

Factors Behind These Transformations

Caring and Supportive Relationships

Teachers have built trust through visitations, counselling, and listening to students’ struggles. By addressing needs—whether financial, emotional, or during crises—teachers have shown practical care and concern.

Fair and Consistent Discipline

Enforcing rules with fairness and clarity has helped students understand the consequences of their actions, encouraging compliance and self-discipline.

Student Camp Experience

The school camp provided a platform for bonding and authentic sharing. Teachers’ testimonies of overcoming similar traumas broke down barriers, fostering mutual understanding and respect.

Elite

This year, many students have shown remarkable growth in self-confidence, particularly in presentations and group projects. These activities encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones and speak confidently in front of an audience. Alongside this, the moral values instilled in the students have become evident in their behaviour. They have developed kindness, care, and tolerance—qualities crucial in a diverse school environment. These values are reflected in their respectful interactions, cooperative behaviour, and acts of compassion and teamwork, especially during challenging moments while fulfilling their responsibilities before school dismissal. Significant breakthroughs have also been achieved this year. For example, the Teacher’s Day celebration was successfully planned and executed entirely by student leaders, including class monitors and prefects. Additionally, the annual Sports Day, a spirited event between the Elite and Excel teams, was conducted smoothly, showcasing their organizational and collaborative skills.
