A Legacy of Generosity

When some students heard about what happened to their classmate’s mother, they sprung into action, modelling their teachers who always give sacrificially to them, they are inspired to do the same for their friend’s family too!

Have you ever done something small that ended up meaning a lot to someone else? Sometimes even little things, like donating, can help people more than we realize.

In 2025, my classmate’s mother got into a really bad car accident. Her injuries were serious and she had to go to the hospital immediately. The bills were really expensive, and their family didn’t have enough money to pay for everything. My classmate looked so distressed and worried for days, and it honestly made me feel heartbroken. When our school decided to have a fundraiser to help their family, I knew I wanted to donate. I hoped it could make things a little easier for them.

While I was donating, I imagined how I would feel if my own mother was in the hospital. It would be so scary and sad. After I donated, I felt really good inside having the thought that, even though it was a small thing, it felt nice knowing I might have helped someone during a really hard time.

I learned that life can change suddenly and sometimes bad things happen when we least expect them. But I also learned that there are always people who care and want to help. Even small acts of kindness can make someone feel better and give them hope

When I first heard about the fundraising for Nora’s mom, I wanted to help because I know how hard it is when someone in your family is sick. I couldn’t imagine what Nora and her family was going through, and I just felt like I needed to do something. Even if it’s small, I believe every little help matters.

During the fundraising, I learned that when people come together, big things can happen. It was really nice to see many of us joining hands and giving what we can. I also learned that it’s not always about money, but about care and kindness. Some people gave time, and others shared about the fundraising with more people

I felt nervous at first because I didn’t know if we could raise enough. But as we went on, I felt happy seeing everyone helping. It gave me hope that when we work together, we can really make a change.

After I donated, I felt proud and thankful. Proud because I was part of something good, and thankful because I have the chance to help someone else. This experience showed me that even as students, we can do something meaningful.

When I first heard about Nora’s mom’s accident, I felt a deep sense of concern— not just for Nora, but for her whole family. So when our teacher asked if I would write about the fundraising efforts, I immediately said yes. I knew this was something meaningful, and I wanted to do whatever I could to support. Joining the fundraising was more than just collecting money— it was about showing compassion and unity as a school community. I was amazed by how quickly students and teachers came together, offering donations, ideas, and encouragement. It reminded me that even small actions, when done together, can create a big impact.

Throughout the process, I felt hopeful but also nervous. We all wanted to raise as much as possible, and it was heartwarming to see so many people respond with kindness. I also felt proud to be part of a school that truly cares for its students and their families.

After donating, I felt something I didn’t expect: peace. It wasn’t just about the amount given— it was about knowing I had done something to help. This experience taught me the value of empathy and reminded me that we’re stronger when we stand together.

This experience taught me that true kindness doesn’t come from how much wegive, but from how much love we put into giving. Helping Nora’s mom reminded me that when a community stands together, even small actions can create a big impact. As Mother Teresa once said, “ It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.” I’ll always carry this lesson with me— because in the end, caring for others is one of the most powerful things we can do.

When I heard that Nora’s mother had been in an accident, I felt very sad. Nora is a kind and caring classmate, and I wanted to help her during this hard time. So, I decided to join the fundraising organized by our school. I believe that even small contributions from many people could make a big difference.

During the fundraising, I learned how important teamwork and kindness are. All of my classmates donated money and many students offered support to Nora. It showed me that when people come together, they can do something truly meaningful. The school community, including teachers and staff, also played a significant role in organizing events and encouraging participation, which further demonstrated the strength of our collective effort.

At times, I felt worried wondering if we could raise enough money or if people would care. But I also felt hopeful and proud when I saw how generous everyone was. After I made my own donation, I felt happy and peaceful, knowing I had done something good for someone who needed help. It was inspiring to witness the compassion and solidarity that emerged from our school community during this challenging time.

This experience taught me that even small actions can have a big impact. It reminded me that we should always try to help others when we can. Supporting Nora made me feel more connected to my classmates and more thankful for the caring people around me. It also reinforced the importance of empathy and the positive change that can result from collective support.

In the end, I realized that giving is not just about money; it’s about showing love and support. Helping Nora reminded me that we all need each other, and together, we can overcome difficult times. This experience has left a lasting impression on me, and I hope to continue being part of such meaningful efforts in the future.
