Life Transformation Through Shelter

Maggi: Initially, Maggi was too scared to recount her story and struggled with suicidal thoughts. Through counselling, therapy, and companionship, she gained the strength to testify in court about her experience. She has since been resettled in another country and is now thriving.

Martha and Mary: When Martha and Mary came to the shelter, they couldn’t communicate in English. However, within six months, they learned basic English skills thanks to the educational opportunities and supportive environment at the shelter.

Four Indonesian children: Four siblings, aged 4 to 13, were living alone in a dangerous and unsanitary environment after their mother’s sudden death. Their abusive father was no longer in the picture. Their living conditions were unsafe, with a broken door and the presence of drug addicts nearby. To ensure their safety and well-being, we brought them into the shelter.

Kathy: Kathy endured abuse from her father and received no support from her family. Traumatised and in desperate need of a safe place, she was brought into the shelter, where she could begin her journey of healing.
