The Excel Cultural Day Celebration, held at our Excel Learning Centre building, was a vibrant showcase of unity, talent, and diversity. Our students opened the doors for people outside the school to come in and experience the colourful performances, cultural exhibitions, and delicious food stalls they had worked hard to prepare. Each class represented different cultures, bringing the school to life with music, laughter, and the aroma of traditional dishes. More than just a festival, it became a space where students learned the value of teamwork, leadership, and embracing differences, reminding everyone that culture is not only to be celebrated but also to be shared.
Reflection on the Cultural Day Celebration by students
Culture Day is the first-ever festival held at my school. Each group was responsible for preparing something special to showcase different cultures. My group represents Myanmar, so we spent weeks planning decorations, preparing food, and rehearsing our cultural performance. Everyone took part in different tasks, and I helped with decoration. One challenge I faced was balancing my schoolwork and preparation, but I managed to pull everything just in time. During the festival, the school was filled with music, colours, laughter, and delicious smells from all the shops. Unfortunately, I was unable to participate in any activities due to feeling unwell. My favourite moment was having conversations with visitors, even though I was shy. It was a mix of excitement and nervousness, especially when they asked about Myanmar, but I felt a deep sense of pride in my culture. After the festival, I felt thankful for the experience. CC day taught me the value of teamwork, leadership and the beauty of different cultures. I realised that when we work together with respect and understanding, we can create something truly meaningful. It also helped me grow personally. I become more confident in expressing myself and more open-minded toward other cultures and time management.
