At ElShaddai Centre, the Social Work Department provides comprehensive support across all our services for the grassroot communities we serve. Working closely with all education and community centres, we identify needs to deliver appropriate interventions that promote holistic well-being, ensuring consistent quality support for every person and family we serve. Our approach is guided by a holistic well-being framework that views community support and advocacy through a biopsychosocial-spiritual lens. Services are organized across three key categories: Protection Services, Psychosocial Support and Prevention Initiatives.

Protection Services include safe placements and case management for GBV survivals, orphans, child brides, destitute women and children in the Girl Shelter and Women Homes; boys who are unaccompanied minors or from dysfunctional families are protected in the Boys Boarding Houses; individuals who are more independent are supported in Community Placements.

Psychosocial Support encompasses our remedial and therapeutic interventions, from clinical mental health to basic psychosocial support services. In partnership with other NGOs and specialists, we support psychiatric treatment, trauma informed care, individual counselling, group counselling, family therapy, community based awareness training, wellness programs and more. These services address both the psychological and social well-being of the communities we serve.

Prevention Initiatives focused on holistic health promotion and developmental support. Child Protection and PSEA trainings are integral parts of the programs. Student wellness covered self and emotional awareness, health and overall wellbeing, and values, diversity, and inclusion. Community programs explored cleanliness and hygiene, oral health and nutrition, emotional awareness and healthy habits. A very important part of the prevention program is care for the care givers. We are grateful that experienced and matured volunteer caregivers are journeying and caring for some of our staff and co-workers.
