Eye Check and glasses for ERLC students

Dr Chan Jan Bond from International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC) developed an application called the Rapid Eye Screening Test (REST). It is easy to use, and our teachers are able to do preliminary eye tests quickly and accurately in the classrooms. All class teachers in all the centres did the eliminatory eye check for their students. On 27 August 2023, Dr Chan brought his team from ISEC, as well as volunteers from the Eco Eyeview Optometry, Zeiss and Rainbow Bridge to ERLC with professional equipment and did thorough checks for students confirmed with eye problems. 72 pairs of glasses were subsequently issued to Prime students. In the ALP and Sg Udang centres, glasses were provided through the head teachers’ initiatives.
