Rida’s Story

These past almost 2 years in Elite have really been a life-changing experience for me. I have progressed from a former childish girl to a senior who knows when and how to control herself. This school and the teachers have taught me many valuable lessons that will be with me for life. I was very nervous and scared on my first day of school. It was not easy to get accustomed to this school then. My classmates are much older than me and I have not attended any school for a year. However, I eventually got more comfortable as I get to know my classmates and teachers. This school has impacted my life to a great extent as I’m not as socially awkward as I was before and I’m much more confident in my public speaking which is a very important skill to have in today’s world. As I went through the school year, I came to understand the truth in the saying ‘You cannot change the way people think or talk about you, but you can change the way you think or talk about people’. This lesson taught me the importance of focusing on my own growth and self-worth rather than the negative opinions of others. This lesson also helped me to improve my confidence and social skills. My experience in school was greatly influenced by my teachers who believed in me and encouraged me to do my best. I also gained confidence because of them. From them, I learned that school is not only about grades but also about growing and discovering who you are. Their influence will stay with me and help me face challenges in the future. Being in a school with mixed communities is enjoyable. I meet people with different backgrounds and cultures and I get to learn more about their traditions and culture which are very interesting. Being in a school with mixed communities has helped us to accept each other’s differences. My life in Elite has been a life-changing experience as I went from a girl who was socially awkward with low confidence to a girl who is confident with herself and isn’t afraid to voice out her opinions.
