Visit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On October 11th, 2022, Deputy Secretary General of Multilateral Affairs Dato’ Cheong Loon Lai, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), visited ElShaddai Refugees Learning Centre. The visit was held in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl Child, and signified the Malaysian government’s efforts in promoting and protecting the rights of women and girls. Dato’ Cheong was warmly received by our founding director Mr Andrew Ng, Executive and Educational Director Dr Ng Oi Leng, and ElShaddai Centre’s head teachers. Besides visits to primary and secondary school classes, there was also a special performance by students from ElShaddai Excel Secondary Learning Centre. ElShaddai Centre is thankful for MOFA’s show of support. Through our teaching service, we will endeavour to further the UN Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education and Gender Equality.
