COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) Report

Local initiatives making a global impact

At the beginning of the Movement Control Order in Malaysia, ElShaddai Centre put out a public plea for an Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) to support the refugees and other marginalised immigrant communities. We were overwhelmed by the support we received from you! We are glad to report that with the support of all our donors and partners, we were able to support more than 4,500 families! Out of this, 796 families received shopping vouchers and cash, and 2,434 families received provisions packs. On top of that, we also reached 1,295 Sabah Filipino immigrants. Through the ERF, what started as a local initiative in Malaysia had created a global impact. Beneficiaries of ERF from different nationalities (and we!) are blessed by support from both the local and global community. We received financial support, in-kind donations, as well as prayers and encouraging words from so many. It truly overwhelms our hearts with gratitude.   larrywon
